Even if you’re young and have a sharp memory, you might still benefit from a medication schedule if you have more than one vitamin or medication you’re taking. Old or young, with the advancements in technology these days, there are medications and treatments for everything. There are a number of options available when it comes to finding a medication reminder, but how do you find the one that’s right for you?

It’s important to take your medication on time, because of the different effects it has on you. Some medications should be taken with food, at night, with other medications, without other medications. Some medications require you not to drive for a certain amount of time after you take them. Even vitamins react with your body in different ways, and it may be more beneficial to your health to take certain vitamins at certain times of the day.

Now that you know why it’s important to take medication on time, you need to find a medication schedule that works for you. If you’re the kind of person that is attached at the hip to your cell phone, there are programs or applications available to help you remember when to take your medication by sending a medication reminder to your phone. It can come in the form of an alarm, or you can even set your phone on vibrate to keep the medication reminder more discreet.

If you’re not keen on keeping up with the latest in technology, you can use a paper schedule to help you remember your medication schedule. This way, you can also take it to the doctor’s office with you and have your doctor make sure you’re doing everything correctly. If you need assistance remembering when to take your medication, you can have someone else fill out the schedule for you. You just need to make sure that you remember to fill out the schedule when you purchase your new medication.

Computer technology has really revolutionized how people remember to take their important medications. If you’re a caretaker, you can use a computer program to make a medication reminder for your sick family member. You can track when it’s time to refill medications, how much medication should be taken every day, and when it should be taken. Anywhere you have the internet you can access your medication information.

Look at the other ways you remind yourself of things that are important. This is probably going to be the best way to set up a working medication reminder. If you stick post-it notes all around your house, a simple post-it note on the bathroom mirror could help you remember to take your medication every morning. If you can’t remember things very well, you could put the bottle of pills in your shoe every night, so you literally trip over your medication in the morning and remember to take it. It’s important to use whatever method works best for you.

Nurse practitioners are specialists that are permitted to provide similar services as a doctor. The care they give is amazing and their skills are immense. The fact is that they are trained quite similarly to a physician.

When making an appointment at the clinic some people are now given the choice of seeing their doctor or the nurse. The best choice is the latter as there are many benefits to be had. There is no reason that most individuals actually need to assistance of the physician.

A specialty nurse can easily give out a diagnosis to health problems or treat common disorders. The same tests are ordered and prescriptions can be sent to the pharmacy. All things that the doctor normally does. This is a result of spending a lot of time in school and doing clinical programs just as medical residents do.

Education

Most of the degrees in this particular field of study can be finished in just a few years. However, it will be dependent on many different issues. A counselor will sit down and look at how many classes are already done and help to choose which ones will still need to be completed.

The first step in reaching the goal of becoming a practitioner is to complete a typical registered nurse degree. This can be achieved at any two year college and will open the door to future training. After this is finished then a masters in nursing can be sought after. It is a particularly tough field of study, but the benefits far out weight any work.

Once all of the educational requirements are completed there are only a few more steps to take. The first will be successful completion of a clinical program which is very similar to the ones that resident physicians are required to do. The next step is to take a state license exam. This is the test that will actually permit a nurse to practice.

Employment

Beyond schooling there are a great number of choices in this medical field. It is a very adventurous career that offers many jobs to choose from. This highly trained nursing professional can provide everything that a doctor can, but with many more benefits to the patient.

The majority of nursing specialists work in the field of general care. This involves seeing people in the normal clinic setting. There are still those who choose to move beyond this area of practice and pick jobs in other areas such as geriatrics or critical care. It is a flexible field with plenty of choices.

For those nurses who want to spread their wings in the area of education, there are jobs as instructors just waiting to be had. It is a high paying job that offers its own set of rewards. A bonus to this is that other students can gain a lot from the things that can be taught by someone who has been there.

When it comes to choosing a medical professional who is just as knowledgeable as a physician, nurse practitioners are the perfect choice. They are extremely highly trained and can diagnose and illness or write a prescription for their patients. The best part is that the typical wait time is half that of the doctor.

Looking for a challenging and rewarding career? Why not try the medical field? Our website offers the tools and resources you need to find travel nurse jobs, nurse practitioner jobs, and occupational therapy jobs.

People who have areas of fat deposits that have not responded well to diet and exercise may be curious about liposuction. While effective, traditional liposuction, or lipo, may have potential drawbacks. A newer form of liposuction, laser liposuction, is a procedure that uses laser technology to minimize negative aspects. But how do these two procedures compare to each other?

Traditional Lipo Procedures

Traditional lipo uses a powerful vacuum to remove fat deposits from under the skin using a cannula, or steel tube. Anesthesia is necessary to perform the procedure and depending on the area and extent of the treatment can be accomplished with either general or local anesthesia.

Following a lipo procedure, patients often need stitches to close the incisions made to insert the cannula under the skin. Recovery time is typically about 2 weeks, and special compression garments are worn for up to 6 weeks. Potential drawbacks to traditional procedures are loose, baggy skin, swelling, bruising, tenderness, and potential complications if general anesthesia is used.

How Laser Lipsuction Differs from Traditional Lipo

Laser lipo is different in that it uses laser technology instead of a powerful vacuum. The cannula used in the laser liposuction procedure is very thin, about the size of a spaghetti noodle, and the incision that is needed to accommodate the cannula is so small it does not require stitches. A tiny laser is attached to the tube that delivers heat and energy directly into the fat cells. The laser liquefies the fat, which is gently suctioned out of the body through the cannula.

Because laser liposuction is less invasive than some others, only local anesthesia is necessary, reducing any potential complications associated with general anesthesia. Patients generally recover and return to work within a couple days, and a compression garment may be recommended for only about 2 weeks. And because the fat is melted before being removed, there is less damage to the surrounding tissue resulting in less bruising and discomfort.

The use of the laser causes loose skin to naturally tighten and encourages collagen growth, which reduces the potential for excess baggy skin following the procedure.

One of the greatest benefits of either type of liposuction is that the effect is permanent. In addition to the fat, the laser also removes the fat cells that cause fat to re-accumulate. Adults do not produce new fat cells, so once the fat cells are destroyed fat will not be deposited in the treated area.

Safety And General Considerations

A good candidate for any type of liposuction is someone in good health, with realistic expectations, and who has areas of fat deposits that have not responded favorably to diet and exercise. Additional considerations for SmartLipo over traditional treatment are that it costs approximately 30% less with just a fraction of the recovery time.

The FDA approved the use of laser-assisted lipo in 2006. It has a less than 1% complication rate compared to 10% with traditional procedures. This is attributed mostly to the difference in local versus general anesthesia.

Regardless of what form of treatment you choose, be sure to find a qualified doctor to ensure that your experience is as pleasant as possible.
