A home workout routine may not be for everyone. I have no problem managing my time in my home. I have a corporate job and I am more productive in my home than in my office. I do not have all the outside interruptions in my home. But I have had other people tell me they could not work from home because they would be too distracted by things around them, as well as tasks that need done around the house.

Exercising in your home can be the same way. For some, they have to take the effort or have the time to go to the gym. But if you had an efficient and effective routine you could go through in your home, you could find a few 20 minute blocks of time each day to work in some exercise. However, the same as above applies to some people when it comes to working out in their home. They get started doing chores around the home and the next thing you know it is 11PM and it is time to be in bed.

There are a number of ways that you can work out from home and it seems like it is becoming easier all the time. There are such things as the Total Gym and Bowflex complete workout setups. These are pieces of equipment designed for your home that will allow you to get a complete strength workout from your home. These can range in price from about $1,500 to 3,000.

If these pieces of equipment do not fit your budget, you can get a full workout using an exercise ball combined with bands and weights. You should be able to purchase these items along with an instruction book for around $50. These items are very portable and can easily be stored away. The exercise ball offers benefits that you cannot get from any other type of equipment.

Another at home exercise option is DVDs. These are specifically designed for the person that wants a complete workout from their home. These can be very challenging and may require the weights, bands or the ball. I saw a new one advertised called P90X that offers 12 weeks of workouts that progress over 3 months. They offer online support and it looks like a very challenging workout.

You have to decide for yourself, which atmosphere (the gym or the home) is going to suit your personality and lifestyle best. There is no correct way to exercise. The only incorrect way is not to do it at all. The important thing here is that you do the healthy thing and that is deciding where and when you are going to work out.
