When you are looking at getting liposuction, you will have to go through a consultation. You want to make sure you get the most out of your consultation as you can. That means you want to be sure to ask the questions you need to ask so you will be able to know if the surgery is right for you. Your plastic surgeon will be able to give you a better idea of your expectations and results, and by asking the right questions you can find out even more.

First, you want to ask the doctor how much fat he will be able to remove. Some doctors are more aggressive than others. You want to see if your doctor has the same idea in mind as you do. At the same time, you do not want an overly aggressive doctor. Safety must be at the forefront of your mind.

Therefore, you need to ask your doctor how much fat he can safely remove. There is often a difference between how much fat he can remove, and how much he can safely remove. You would rather err on the side of caution when it comes to this.

Also, you need to ask how many procedures you will need in order to get the results you want. Sometimes only one procedure is needed, but other times doctors will perform as many as three. You will want to know how many so you will be able to prepare yourself emotionally and financially.

If you are going to need several procedures, you will need to make sure you have the resources required for this. Also, you will need to make sure you are emotionally capable of waiting for several months before you see the results you want.

You also need to know about your recovery time. Your recovery time will vary depending on the type of liposuction you get. You will want to know about your recovery time so you can make the necessary arrangements in regards to work.

Recovery time can last from a few days to a few weeks. Many factors go into recovery time, and while some variables cannot be predicted, your plastic surgeon should be able to give you a good idea of how long your recovery should take. You can then get the time you need off work, as well as make sure you will have someone at home that can help you out while you are recovering.

After that, you want to discuss price. After the doctor meets with you and sees what he will need to do, he will be able to let you know how much the procedure is going to cost. You want to make sure it is something you can afford. When you are discussing price, you can also find out if he accepts any payment arrangements.

Talking with your plastic surgeon is necessary before you get liposuction. You want to be sure the procedure is right for you, and you cannot possibly know that without talking to the doctor. Take your time to get all of your questions answered so you can go into the procedure with confidence.

For quite some time now, the so-called experts in water have been telling us that a water filter can save our lives. But many times, these experts are no other than the people behind the companies that market these products.

One of the features they promote is that water filters filter chlorine from water. This sounds good, as long as you do not know that chlorine is put in water for a good reason. Chlorine is one of the most common and affordable disinfectants. Their mission is to deactivate many of the microorganisms that are found in water.

Chlorine also takes care of pathogens in drinking water and it kills disease-causing bacteria. It was effective against cholera and many other diseases. So by filtering chlorine, water filters are also filtering a powerful weapon against waterborne diseases. Chlorine was also widely used in natural disasters scenarios, where the victims needed supplies of safe water.

Another promoted feature of water filters is their effectiveness in filtering fluoride. As well as chlorine, fluoride is supposed to stay in our drinking water. It is added on purpose to protect our health, so why would we choose to eliminate it?

Fluoridation is widely known to prevent tooth decay. It also prevents stains and makes the teeth grow stronger. Fluoride reduces the incidence of cavities and improves dental hygiene. So again, these so-called experts keep repeating that eliminating fluoride from our water is a great benefit, but the truth is that by eliminating fluoride we are eliminating a lot of beneficial effects to our health.

There are different kinds of water filters. All of them have disadvantages, cost you money and consume your time. The most effective way of having clean drinking water is just drinking your tap water, and guess what? It is the cheapest way too.

A water filter will cost you money, not only once, but many times, since you need to buy every so often their filter replacements. Most of these filters will come with an installation kit, meaning you have to do it yourself. If you are not acquainted to this type of procedures, installing a water filter may be time-consuming and frustrating.

Once you get caught by the lie, the consuming madness will never stop. First, you will need a filter for your tap water, then one for your fridge, later you will need a filter for your shower water.

Do not forget about air conditioning and humidifier filters. Are you planning to go camping? Do not leave without water filters, they will say. If you buy a chlorine filter, then you will need a fluoride one, and the list goes on. Next, you will find your self owning hundreds of filters and you will not even know what they do for you.

A question that you should ask yourself before purchasing a water filter is: Is all of the hassle worth it when I know that tap water is perfectly healthy? If after answering that question you still feel that you need a water filter, make sure you read the user’s manual, and that you know what the advantages and disadvantages of the model you chose are.

Researchers from Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington D.C. recently published an article in the journal Nature Medicine on the potential link between Alzheimer’s disease and those who have previously suffered from a traumatic brain injury.

According to a Reuter’s news report on the study, Alzheimer’s disease is “associated with accumulations of an abnormal protein, amyloid beta, in the brain. Traumatic brain injury triggers accumulation of enzymes required for production of amyloid-beta.”

However, individuals who suffer from traumatic brain injuries can still find hope in this newly appointed research as scientists may have found a way to decrease the effects of brain damage by “blocking the enzymes in the biochemical pathway reducing the effects of long-term Alzheimer’s disease damage,” according to Reuters.

Traumatic Brain Injury Risks

Approximately 5 million Americans are currently living with a traumatic brain injury; each year there is an additional 1 million U.S. citizens who suffer from a TBI incident. There are many causes behind a traumatic brain injury, including:

* violence

* transportation accidents

* construction

* sports

* falls

* struck by an object

* improvised explosive devices (IEDs)

Symptoms often associated with a traumatic brain injury depend upon the severity of an injury, which can range from mild to moderate to severe. However, common side effects include the following:

* headache

* vomiting

* nausea

* lack of motor coordination

* dizziness

* difficulty balancing

* lightheadedness

* blurred vision

* tired eyes

* ringing in the ears

* bad taste in the mouth

* fatigue

* lethargy

* changes in sleep patterns

* cognitive changes

* behavioral changes

* confusion

* memory difficulties

* concentration problems

* difficulties thinking and remaining attentive

* weakness or numbness in limbs

* dilation of one or both pupils

* agitation

Living With TBI

TBI is often a very debilitating condition that may require large amounts of physical therapy and treatment options as well as require thousands of dollars in medical costs, which is why it is common for many brain injury patients to discuss a TBI lawsuit with an experienced personal injury attorney.

By contacting a brain injury lawyer, a patient is increasing their chances of receiving monetary funds as a compensation for the damages endured because of a brain injury incident. Additionally, a TBI lawsuit may also result in the reimbursement of expensive medical bills as well as open the door for patients to receive costly medical care that they may have otherwise been able to afford or receive. It is imperative that individuals suffering from a traumatic brain injury receive adequate medical assistance in order to avoid enduring further harm from their TBI accident.

Have you ever been curious or skeptical about how correspondence courses, for Yoga teachers, work? Below is a question and answer session about educating Yoga instructors through distance learning. These courses are online, or correspondence programs, designed for the education of new, or established, Yoga teachers.

Q: It’s hard to believe that someone can be certified as a Yoga teacher without face-to-face contact. How does a correspondence course for Yoga instructors compensate for personal contact?

A: Technology, in the form of streaming video, via Internet and DVDs, has changed the face of education and training in every field. Correspondence courses traditionally entailed learning by reading, and maybe sending a few photos of postures, but video has made learning and testing much easier – especially when you add telephone, or Email contact,

Many graduates of correspondence courses are already certified or registered Yoga teachers, but they need Continuing Education Credits for re-certification from the registries or their original certifier. Therefore, Yoga certification organizations provide continuing education for Yoga teachers, and the world’s Yoga registries approve of non-contact continuing education units (CEUs).

Q: What kind of testing requirements do Yoga teacher graduates go through?

A: The examinations process is the same as most on-site Yoga teacher training courses. There will be written exams, but you will retain more information from essay-style written examinations. Multiple choice and true or false examinations do not require a Yoga teacher intern to do in-depth thinking and research.

There may be essays, research, and a synopsis or two. The highlight of the testing process is the practical exam video, which may be 50% of the entire grade. The video may require you to demonstrate, assist, adjust, and explain, pranayama (Yogic breathing), relaxation, asana (Yoga posture), and meditation techniques.

Depending on the practical exam requirements, there may be other techniques to demonstrate, and explain, such as: Mudras (gestures, usually performed with the hands), bandhas (locks), or something else.

Q: Is knowledge of all the aspects of classical Hatha Yoga required?

A: A well-rounded distance learning Hatha Yoga course should contain educational materials about the following aspects: Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Asanas, Modifications, Yoga philosophy, Yoga teaching methodology, Adjusting posture (asana) alignment, Chakras, Bandhas, Mudras, Yamas, Niyamas, Pranayama, Meditation and Relaxation, Working with special populations, Yoga Teaching Tips, and Yoga Teacher Ethics.

Granted, some Yoga distance learning courses have less material to learn, but the very first level 1 course should contain at least 200 hours worth of material, to set a solid foundation of knowledge. In fact, a level 1 Yoga certification course is often considered a foundational course, which opens the path toward constructive continuing education for life.

Jnana Yoga is often considered the “Yoga of truth.” This form of truth, in Yoga practice, is found through self-discovery and by carefully performing honest self-analysis. Yet, all that we change from within will not change the world around us, unless we interact with it.

Relationships are our interaction, with the people we see, in the course of a day. We cannot change the world by sitting and meditating in a cave for the rest of our lives. Yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and loving kindness are put into practice when we engage in balanced relationships.

In all relationships, the keys to success can be found. Take the following key and apply it toward all of your relationships in work, with family, at home, and with your friends. In this way, you can apply time-tested Yogic principles in your daily life.

The Key of Mutual Trust

You have a right to be skeptical of everything you encounter, but when you wear skepticism like a badge, people will become skeptical of you. This does not imply that you should trust everyone and train your children to “take candy from strangers.” However, when you assume that everyone has a hidden agenda, and you do not trust anyone, you encourage an atmosphere of mistrust.

Supervisors and business owners set the tone within a company. If mistrust starts at the top, it trickles down to the foundation of the company. An atmosphere of mistrust breeds a multitude of problems. The supervisor who does not trust his or her help is most likely to take credit for the help’s ideas.

Similarly, the same supervisor is least likely to take responsibility for his or her mistakes. It is very tempting, when you do not trust anyone, to see everyone as potential enemies. It is also possible to view every subordinate as a threat to job security. Do you think the workers who answer to an openly distrustful supervisor will be loyal?

So far, all we have considered is the level of mutual trust in business relationships, but the key of mutual trust is part of every aspect of life. If you treat your children and spouse with mistrust, you will definitely encounter mutual feelings from them.

Whether trust is earned, or violated, do not ignore it. There is no need to carry a grudge forever or assume that one act of kindness makes someone a saint. We have to accept people the way they are, without going through harsh judgments or leaving ourselves unnecessarily open to be taken advantage of.

Yoga teaches each of us about living in balance and harmony. There is no need to let life’s highs or lows throw you out of balance for long. Granted, we are all human and mistakes are part of a lifelong learning process, but Yoga can help us find the higher purposes of life.

Exercising is what makes the difference between the bodybuilder and non-bodybuilder, weight exercises especially are a precursor to any muscle gains. Body building is sometimes construed as exercising parse. However, exercises alone are not the full equation. Dieting is very important to a body builder because it forms the fuel through which exercises can be done. Further the diet provides the very building blocks that enable growth of new muscle mass. But all these two, despite their significance can not work without proper and adequate rest.

Rest makes it possible for muscles to grow. Exercises become nullified when a body builder disregards rest and sleep. Diet can never begin working in the body, especially the proteins, if the body builder does not rest and preferably sleep. Without rest, the importance and effectiveness of both exercising and dieting becomes a null endeavor. That is how important rest is to a body builder.

Without rest, adequate rest that is, training exercises becomes not only useless but also injurious. Stimulate muscles maximally but allow adequate rest and sleep in the program so that the muscles can be repaired, rejuvenated automatically. After this, the body will then commission a sped up growth of new muscle corresponding to the challenge met during the workout. When you wake up every day, you will have attained mass, more and more each day.

That is why most body builders despite being stallions in the weight room remain in a plateau. The fact that most body builders disregard sleep and essentially quality rest, explains why packing on the desired muscle mass becomes so challenging. The grueling workout exercises actually can add up to muscle injuries if proper rest is not allocated in between the workouts. Body building exercises, especially that require weights in their administration, cause damages to the muscles and deplete the glycogen levels in the body. During rest however, such damaged muscle tissues are rejuvenated, some repaired, others replaced and still others created.

Growth of new muscles only occurs during rest and so does repair and regeneration of the existing muscle fibers. It is important that glycogen levels are restored in the muscles before the next workout session. The normal and growth friendly hormonal balances are achieved and maintained only if the body builder matches the training with effective, sufficient and quality rest between workouts. Hormonal indexes like that of cortisol and testosterone are at their peak after adequate rest not after training workouts. Anabolism is only maintained if proper rest is achieved in between workout sessions but when exercises are piled up in successive progress without adequate rest, catabolism states are activated resulting to muscle wasting and overtraining.

No what happens, rest remains a fundamental requirement placed on every body builder who is serious about gaining muscle mass and strength. A body builder must therefore work hard not only to train intensively, but also to rest adequately. Rest is as important as are exercises and dieting, period.
