While the majority of dentists are good at what they do, there are always a few bad apples. Unfortunately, by the time you realize that you`ve chosen a bad one, the damage will have been done. To prevent possible problems, it`s a good idea to do a credential check on your dentist, to be sure that he or she hasn`t had any problems in the past.

There are two main ways to go about checking credentials for your dentist. Here we will look at both and you can choose which is best for you.

State Boards
All dentists must be registered with the state Board of Dental Examiners. They can provide you with a list of dentists, or you can find this online as most states make the list easily available on their website. You should be able to do a simple search for your dentist`s name and the following information will be made available.

- Address
- Phone number
- License number
- License issue date
- End of record mark

The number that concerns you here is the license number. You can use this to get further information about the dentist you are interested in by contacting the state Board of Dental Examiners. In some states, this can be done online, but in many, you`ll need to actually call the board up.

With the license number, you`ll be able to find out if the dentist has a valid license and if any disciplinary measures have ever been taken against him or her. You will need the number for your particular state`s board so you can call them up and ask for information about the dentist in question. Any other problems with their practice will be available to you, as well, so you can make your choice as to whether or not you`ll make an appointment with that particular dentist. If you are checking out more than one dentist, be sure to have all the license numbers on hand for reference.

Online Searches
If you don`t wish to go through all the hassle of looking up your dentist`s license number and calling to find out more information, you will find that there are websites that specialize in providing information about dentists in your area. All you need to do is type in the dentist`s name and the information will come up. Most sites do charge a fee to see all the information, that which you would be able to find out for free by calling the state board.

Most people will find that it`s simply easier to pay the small fee and have the information immediately and conveniently. You`ll have access to any dentist on the list and will be able to quickly scan through and find out which ones in your area have had problems with the Board before. This is immensely helpful in choosing a dentist.
It`s just common sense to find out whether or not your dentist is a good one or has complaints against him before you arrange any dental work. You wouldn`t leave your car with just any mechanic, so why would you let just any dentist touch your teeth? It pays to find out who you`re trusting with your mouth!

Take the time to do a little research, find out if any disciplinary action has been taken against the dentist in question and to ensure that their license is still up to date. You`ll be very glad of it if you should find out something unpleasant, and if you don`t, you`ll still have peace of mind while you sit in the dentist`s chair.

Mesothelioma is one of the rarer forms of cancer with approximately 2000 cases reported in the UK each year. There are two types of mesothelioma; pleural mesothelioma (which causes the lining of the lungs to become thicker) and peritoneal mesothelioma (which causes the lining of the abdomen to become thicker). Both of these forms of cancer are almost always caused by asbestos exposure hence the nickname asbestos cancer. Despite it being one of the less common types of cancer there are still a number of tests out there which I will be outlining in this article.

1) X-RAY:- One of the first tests your doctor is likely to recommend is an x-ray of the chest, the abdomen or both. This will allow them to see a number of things. First, it may reveal the presence of asbestos in or around the lungs or the stomach. Secondly, it will reveal any build up of fluid either around the lungs (which could turn out to be pleural effusion) or around the abdomen (which could turn out to be ascites). Finally, it will allow your doctor to see any thickening, swelling, lumps or tumours around the lungs and abdomen which could turn out to be mesothelioma. If the x-ray does reveal any of the above abnormalities your doctor is likely to recommend further testing.

2) FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION CYTOLOGY (FNAC):- If the x-ray reveals a build up of fluid in the lining of the lungs or the abdomen your doctor is likely to suggest FNAC. This test involves using a fine needle to take a sample of fluid from either the pleura (the lining of the lungs) or the peritoneum (the lining of the abdomen). The fluid can then be tested in a lab for the presence of cancerous mesothelioma cells. If the FNAC reveals that the fluid contains mesothelioma cells your doctor will be able to discuss treatment options with you.

3) BIOPSY:- If the x-ray reveals any abnormalities in the shape of the pleura or the peritoneum your doctor is likely to recommend a biopsy. This normally involves using a special type of needle to take a sample of cells from the affected areas. These cells can then be analysed in a lab for the presence of cancerous mesothelioma cells. If cancerous cells are discovered your doctor will then be able to talk you through the treatment options available.

Although mesothelioma is one of the rarest types of cancer that does not mean you should neglect the available tests. If you have previously been exposed to asbestos or have any reason to believe you may have contracted this type of cancer go speak with your doctor immediately. Mesothelioma is much more treatable when it is identified early and that can only be achieved through proper testing.

Whilst every intention has been made to make this article accurate and informative, it is intended for general information only. Mesothelioma is a very serious, life threatening condition and you should discuss any concerns, treatments or lifestyle changes fully with your doctor.

A short time ago, I received a promotional booklet in the mail from a very well-known and “credible” company (they have an extensive scientific advisory board) that publishes a monthly magazine on health and prevention, as well as many books on various health topics.

It was shocking to read through it and count the many outrageous promises and claims made about their diet and health program. Here are some quotes:

“DROP 30 lbs. Fast!”

“INCHES OFF YOUR BELLY in 10 minutes a day!”

“Shrink Your Waist with a Vitamin!”

“Do You Have a Few Minutes to Lose 25 Pounds?”

“6 Hours of Exercise in 6 Minutes”

“Just 30 Seconds per Exercise Session!”

“See How You Can Reverse Your Sluggish Metabolism–Burn More Fat Without Exercising!”

“Top-Secret Fat Scorcher Burns Nine Times More Fat with Less Exercise!”

“See How to Knock Down High Blood Pressure by Doing Practically Nothing!”

“Get Younger Every Day!”

We Believe What We Want to Believe

As tempting as it is to believe these headlines, we need to engage our brains when reading these and filter out the noise and mis-truths. To help you do this, I will outline “5 Diet Red Flags” that you can use to help you filter out 98% of the advertisements on diet and weight-loss you see today.

5 Diet Red Flags

When you hear about these types of diets–run!

1. Diets that promise drastic, quick weight loss.

We all know by now that you can only lose 1-2 lbs. per week if it is FAT loss. That’s because there are 3500 calories per pound of fat. Between diet and exercise, the most FAT you can lose in one week is 1-2 lbs. So why do we want to lose more than this, faster than this? The only way it can be done is to lose water (which has no calories) or muscle (which has about 600 calories per lb.). Water just comes back later, and muscle lost just lowers your calorie-burning engine and metabolism–which is self-defeating.

2. Diets that claim no exercise is required.

Claims are made that a certain pill, cream, potion, or food combination will increase your metabolic rate so you don’t need to exercise. While it may be true that a tiny metabolic rate increase is possible with some of these methods, there are usually negative side effects to using them. But the big downside is that when you compare these methods to the actual increases in metabolism that exercise provides–their effectiveness pales in comparison. And exercise has dozens of positive effects on health and function of the body as well.

3. Diets that are less than 1000 calories per day.

It’s difficult to get all your nutrients on less than 1000 calories per day. And we all have heard by now that when you do this, your body goes into “survival” mode and lowers your metabolic calorie-burn rate. So it is self-defeating in many ways. You may have a moderate initial weight loss, but the rate will slow as your body adjusts.

4. Diets that differ drastically from the way you are eating now.

It’s true that if your diet needs improving, you need to make some changes. But if it is too drastic a change, or a way of eating that most people cannot possibly continue long-term, then it will most likely be abandoned after the weight is lost. That’s one more “yo” to the “yo-yo”.

5. Diets that claim to be effortless.

OK, on this one we need to really kick ourselves for believing. “It was as easy as falling off a log!” Oh, really? Obviously, true weight and fat loss that can be maintained and is healthy cannot be achieved any other way than by good old “lifestyle change.” Anything easier is either not truly effective, or has negative side effects from using long-term, and possibly even in the short-term.

Healthy Eating Made Simple–But Not Effortless!

How do you eat healthier AND reduce calories at the same time? By eating the MOST NUTRIENT-DENSE FOODS. Foods that have the most nutrition in the least calories will provide you with the most “nutritional bang for the buck.” They are the best foods for the human body overall. Fresh raw or steamed green leafy vegetables and vegetables in general score the highest in this category. Whole raw fruits come in second place. Then come whole grains, legumes (beans, peas, nuts and seeds), low fat dairy, and lastly–lean meats.

Another way to make healthy eating simple is to pick the foods that have the MOST VOLUME PER CALORIE. This way your stomach is filled up before you overeat on calories. The list of these foods is in just about the same order as the one above for the most nutrient-dense foods. Fresh veggies, fruits, whole grains, legumes, low-fat dairy, then lean meats. In general, foods which have a high water content usually are very filling. If the calories are less than 50 per cup–this is excellent. If 50-100 calories, good. If 100-200+, fair. Over 200-300+, be careful.

Combine these eating patterns with a moderate exercise program such as walking, swimming, bicycling for 30-45 minutes 5-6 times per week, and you have everything you need to do it right, and do it safely and effectively. The important thing with exercise is to do something YOU ENJOY. So you may want to walk or bicycle along the beach, or try a dance-type of class that will be enjoyable while the time passes quickly.

Research has shown that people who track what they are eating daily are twice as successful as those who “wing it.” Those who have a support group or buddy to go through the program with together, are twice as successful again. So increase your chances for success by putting it all together. Here’s to your future success!

If you are like everyone on this planet, you have undoubtedly been affected by disease in one way or another. Either you have suffered from disease yourself or someone you care about is (or has been) a victim of a devastating disease or maybe even died from it.

One out of every 3 adults in America already has cancer but most of them don’t know it yet because the cancer is undiagnosed and undetected.

Information from the American Cancer Society.

According to the American Cancer Society, there’s a 41% probability that an individual, male or female, will develop cancer in his or her lifetime (or die from it).

Is the amount of oxygen we take in a key factor?

Two-time Nobel Prize-winning doctor, Otto Warburg, shocked the world when he revealed that most disease is caused by insufficient levels of oxygen in the body. In fact, his studies showed that if you deprive a cell 35% of its required levels of oxygen for 48 hours, the cell is likely to become cancerous.

Additionally, every human being has cancer cells existing in the body which are just seeking a low-oxygen environment where they can multiply into the full-blown disease. That’s why cancer is so widespread in our modern society, because most people suffer from oxygen deprivation.

Are there to many toxins in our food?

Current medical research, for instance, is focused on the wrong causes of disease. Some claim that viruses, microbes, germs or harmful bacteria are the cause of cancer and other diseases. Others say it is the toxins in the food we eat, the air we breathe and the substances we consume. And still others say it’s our genes or stress that causes us to acquire disease.

So what causes the disease?

While all of these factors do characterize most diseases, or might be precursors or by products of disease, they do not cause disease. Rather, they bring about a condition in the body (oxygen deficiency) that, in turn, causes disease.

Clearly, the primary physical cause of all diseases is linked in one way or another to oxygen deficiency and when the human body is supplied with abundant amounts of oxygen, all cancer cells, viruses, harmful bacteria, toxins, pathogens and disease micro organisms are killed because they cannot survive in a high-oxygen environment.

Since an oxygen-rich body is uninhabitable by disease, then the solution for eradicating disease seems simple enough, doesn’t it? Just supply the body with an abundant supply of oxygen, right? Wrong! It’s actually not as simple as that. Here’s why:

Oxygen cannot cure disease unless it is delivered to the cells and tissues of the body. Most humans are not able to get proper amounts of oxygen in their cells and tissues due partly to poor air quality, poor breathing habits and oxygen-depleting activities. More importantly, the human body is not always able to deliver oxygen to the cells and tissues.

In order for oxygen to eradicate disease, it must be delivered not just to the lungs and not just to the bloodstream but to the cells and tissues of the body. That’s why other oxygen-based therapies such as oxygenated water, oxygen-rich foods or supplements, or treatments that release oxygen into the bloodstream are not always effective in treating disease. While they may supply the body with oxygen, they don’t always have an efficient mechanism for breaking the oxygen free from the haemoglobin molecule, which means the oxygen is not delivered to the cells and tissues. Such oxygen-based therapies, therefore, are seldom effective in preventing and curing disease.

I am sure that we would be prepared to give everything, to ensure that we and our loved ones would never need to suffer or die from so-called “incurable” diseases that are actually curable?

This is truly a fact that has been purposely neglected for over 50 years.

As organic skin care grows in popularity, people are starting to realize just how unhealthy mainstream make up, lotions and basic heath items are. With this awareness has come a mounting alarm that these products are not FDA regulated and manufacturers can get away with using a lot of additives that pharmaceutical companies cannot. As a result, potentially life threatening chemicals are being placed in everyday items like baby oil, lotions and creams putting consumers at risk.

Many of these items can create adverse skin reactions and rashes that turn men and women off from the use of these otherwise beneficial items.

Below is a list of some of the things you should look out for when purchasing regular skin care products that may cause irritation or be potentially toxic.

Parabens

Parabens are a collective group of preservatives that have been used by the cosmetic and beauty aid industry to reduce bacterial growth in their products. Many Parabens start with the prefix of methyl, ethyl, butyl, or propyl and are extremely hazardous to health as well as irritating to the skin.

Below is a list of some of these parabens as well as other toxic chemicals that can be aggravating to the largest organ of the human body as well as contribute to a host of ailments.

- Color and Fragrance – both of these substances do not provide anything other than an aesthetic or scent related effect, however, both have properties in them that create skin sensitivity. They are also carcinogenic, meaning that they could cause caner.

- DMDM Hydantoin. Another preservative, this chemical has been attributed to the releases of formaldehyde. This harmful byproduct not only causes skin irritation, it creates allergies and joint pain as well as a long list of hormonal problems.

- Triclosan. This chemical has been categorized by the EPA as a chlorophenol, a high level carcinogen. Just a tiny bit can create major health problems and wreak havoc on the body. The continued use of Triclosan has been linked to hormonal imbalances in both men and women.

- Propylene Glycol (PG) – petroleum based preservative this substance has been cited among the many numerous skin irritants in cosmetic and beauty products. It is also so toxic that handlers have to wear safety gear just to touch it.

- Butylene Glycol – also a petroleum based chemical, both butylene and propylene glycol is dangerous and extremely deadly and some cases. Butylene has been linked to cancer and numerous other chronic disorders.

- Mineral Oil – yet another petroleum product, mineral oil clogs pores creating aggravating break outs and rashes in many users. It also interferes with the skin’s ability to renew and repair itself. This can create a host of problems outside of mere acne issues as the skin needs to function properly for other important organs to work efficiently.

On an even scarier note, most baby oil is made up of 100% Mineral Oil!

There are hundreds more chemicals that can adversely affect the skin or cause illness — to find out what they are, you should do further, in depth research on the topic.

Other problems associated with mainstream skin care products

Continued use of over the counter, mainstream skin care products can contribute to hormonal imbalances, allergies, severe skin irritations leading to rashes and dermatitis, disorders like CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) headaches, depression, mood swings and hyperactivity.

The answer

Using organic all natural products can alleviate some of the risks commonly associated with the use of mainstream beauty products. Be careful in this regard as many manufacturers may claim something is all natural or organic yet have chemicals in them.

Read all skin care product labels and above all, strive to make sure that you replace harmful chemical based products in your home with truly organic purchases. Though a bit more time consumptive, you will be rewarded with a better health and more luxurious and thankful skin.

Offers professional organic skin care products to help you maintain a youthful appearance. Provides organic skincare products such as cleansers, toners and serums for all skin types.

You are tired of seeing your hair fall every time you pass the hairbrush through your hair. You feel embarrassed when somebody loudly announces the grey hair she has seen on your head. You plan to take human growth hormones to get that beautiful hair.

To both men a woman, thick dense hair adds beauty to their looks. Women look prettier and men look more handsome. However, if you begin to lose on your hair, it becomes depressing. Hair fall, hair thinning, and grey hair at an early age are all very upsetting. No matter how many types of conditioner we use and consume herbal medicines to improve our hair problems, we never succeed. This is because it is important to clear the problem from its roots for best results.

Growth hormones produces in the pituitary glands help the growth of hair. Your quality of hair improves. Nevertheless, have you ever thought; increased level of growth hormones can reverse the effects as well?

There are articles based on several studies and researches that state that growth hormones do have positive effects on hair. Many patients have also reported loss of hair after being treated for acromegaly by various medications. For instance, octreotide. Acromegaly is disease that is caused by an increase in level of human growth hormones in the body.

Growth hormones cannot be only taken for poor hair conditions. Growth hormones affect several parts of the body. Like, the heart, the liver, the kidney, skin, etc. This is why you see and feel various changes in you once you start taking HGH. Your skin’s elasticity gets enhanced, your energy level is boosted, you get good sleep, you lose weight and body mass becomes lean, muscles become stronger, sexual potency improves, memory imrpoves… and the list will never stop. Therefore, HGH or human growth hormones cannot be taken for hair problems only. In addition, it solely does not justify why HGH should be used for treating hair problems.

Medical problems cause hair loss. Improper care of hair causes hair problems. It is important to get to the roots of the problem instead of taking growth hormones with any consultation. It is wise to consult a doctor why you suffering from hair loss problems. The most common reason why one loses hair are:

- Thyroid disorders

- Iron deficiency

- Malfunctioning of the immune system automatically

- Hormonal imbalance in a woman

- If you have been on other medications for a long time, it also causes hair fall. This is because, most of the medications heats up the system of the body. This causes hair fall.

Human growth hormones will not completely solve hair loss problem because it does not affect a single system in the body. It affects several other vital organs. Besides this, there has been no justification for the usage of growth hormones for hair loss.

A healthy lifestyle, proper diet, and regular care of hair will help you restore the beauty of your hair.
